3i QUITS EARLY STAGE INVESTMENT

We are looking to run a series of events during Global Entrepreneurship Week (17th to 23rd November 2008) in London and ideally many other locations internationally focusing on 'Innovation in Cycling'...during which we are looking to attract global distribution partners for some of the cycling related ventures that we are currently resourcing.

The Pie Finance portal was launched in March 2008 to international audiences ranging attendees at a Enterprise Funding conference in Brazil, government representatives at the Conservative Party Spring Break Conference as well as a host of entrepreneurs, investors and resource providers and a number of other events.

Our comment on this story: we believe that there is a significant need for early stage funding to fuel the innovation required to grow the economy, encourage enterprise and create employment. Whilst the existing private finance companies and networks provide an invaluable service for more developed businesses, the risks and costs need to be significantly reduced for the early stage market.
